Hannah Eiserman is a writer and marketing professional based in Victoria, BC. She is currently the Managing Editor of The Ex-Puritan.
Hannah holds a Master's degree in English from the University of Victoria (2024) and a BA Hons. in English from the University of Regina. Her Master's essay, entitled “The Dial (1889-1897): Creating Queer Community Through Collaboration,” argues that The Dial’s coeditors, Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon, used their periodical and its production as a tool to foster a community of likeminded individuals – that is to say, as a tool of queer community building. Her broader research interests includes late Victorian literature, periodical publishing and book history, Oscar Wilde and his circle, the New Woman, and queer literary collaboration.
After completing her Master's degree, Hannah began working as a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for Bracelayer Apparel Ltd., discovering a new interest in marketing and advertising. In her work for Bracelayer, Hannah has completed training in SEO practices, Google Analytics, and content creation. She has written high organic search traffic driving blog posts for Bracelayer, which can be found under "Content Writing."
Previously, Hannah has written for The Carillon in her position as the Arts & Culture editor (2021-2022). Her poem “The Frenchman River Valley” appeared in Grain’s 50th anniversary issue. She is hoping to pursue new publication opportunities now that she has completed her studies.
In her free time, Hannah can be found reading, gallivanting in the woods and surrounding ocean of Vancouver Island, working on one of her five half-finished novels, or picking up a new hobby.
